Team work, Rome, Latin....

Have we only been back at school for 3 days? We've packed so much in!  In PSHE we have been learning to work as a team, learning about active listening, discussing what makes a good team and participating in challenges that put our team skills to the test. In anticipation of our history topic about the Romans we listened to Chris, a visiting storyteller, telling us stories about ancient Rome, then we designed and made Roman shields (learning about symmetry on the way) and finally we were challenged to identify some Latin words.

Chris told us stories about Rome.

Working together to design some fantastic shields.

Trying out team skills.  Which team will make the longest chain?

We enjoyed learning Latin words.  Our favourites: librum = book, circum = around, video = I see.
